About Marriage Intensives

A marriage intensive brings a couple into an environment designed for restoration. How? By providing a safe, encouraging context to work through marital issues in the company of four to five couples in similar circumstances, and under the care of two highly trained marital therapists. Through experiential and group activities, these intensives help set marriages along a healthier path. Therapists work closely with couples to identify the root causes of their distress, while teaching each spouse to cooperate and take personal responsibility as they work together toward a transformed marriage. Through a combination of therapy and free time in a resort-style setting–including private rooms and baths–marriage intensives give couples an escape from the world.

The Refuge at River Falls

Experience rest, recreation, and restoration at The Refuge at River Falls. The Refuge is located near Amarillo, TX on the rim of Palo Duro Canyon just 15 minutes from Rick Husband International Airport.

Rest in the beauty of the private canyon with its waterfalls, lakes, wildlife and natural habitat preserved in the way Charles Goodnight discovered it in the 1800's. Enjoy recreation such as fishing, paddleboats, biking, hiking, and more. Discover restoration during a Marriage Intensive.

Marriage Intensives are 2-4 day retreats facilitated by a licensed professional counselor who will assist you in exploring your needs and desires for the marriage God designed for you. Hope and healing can be yours.

Your hosts, Connie and Jerry Sublett, provide a private, peaceful and comfortable atmosphere for your retreat. All guests have a luxurious room with a private bath and a breathtaking view. Hearty meals, plentiful snacks and Texas hospitality complete your full service retreat.
